If a task did not alert you or you are unsure how something works, start here. MimiTask is for iPhone with iOS 26 or later.

Getting started

  1. Create a task with a time and choose how it should alert you: earphones, an iPhone alarm, or a silent notification.
  2. For Bluetooth earphones, register the device as earphones in Settings. Wired earphones are recognized automatically.
  3. Check notification and alarm permissions. If the app shows an alert reservation warning after saving, read that warning.

Frequently asked questions

Why did the alert not play in my earphones?

To ring in your earphones, wired earphones or registered Bluetooth earphones need to be connected, and MimiTask must be running until the time. MimiTask waits from 8 hours before the time. When MimiTask isn’t running, it can’t start by itself — not as the time approaches, and not when you connect earphones. If you swipe the app away or the wait stops partway, you’re alerted with an iPhone alarm set up in advance or a silent notification, depending on the ring style you chose.

What happens if my earphones disconnect?

If your earphones come off while waiting, “Earphones, else phone” keeps waiting and rings from the phone. “Earphones, else notification” stops waiting and alerts you with a silent notification at the set time. A little sound may leak from the phone at the moment it switches.

How are alarms different from silent notifications?

An “Alarm” rings as an iPhone alarm. Where the sound plays follows your iPhone’s settings, and it may ring from the phone even if you’re wearing earphones. A “Silent notification” plays no sound. Whether it vibrates depends on MimiTask settings, the state of your iPhone and Apple Watch, and notification permission.

Does “Stop the sound” complete my task?

No. Tap “Done” when the task is finished. To be alerted later, use “In 10 min” or “Change time”. Sound played by MimiTask stops after about a minute if you do nothing. If you set Repeat alert, you’re alerted again as set. When it rings as an iPhone alarm, your iPhone decides how long it rings.

Does MimiTask work with Apple Watch?

There is no separate Apple Watch app. An iPhone notification may appear on your Watch, but its display and vibration depend on the devices and iOS/watchOS behavior. Do not rely on the Watch as a guaranteed alert.

Can I see my tasks on another iPhone?

When iCloud is available, tasks and records sync to your private iCloud storage under the same Apple Account. “Available” in the iCloud backup section means iCloud can be used, not that a particular task has already synced. Check your connection and confirm that the task actually appears on the other device. Alarm reservations and the activity log are kept on each device.

Why can’t I add a second task?

The free plan keeps one task at a time. A second task needs Pro. Pro also adds color-coding and filtering with tags, the calendar view, recurring schedules (daily, weekdays, or specific days), a choice of alarm sounds, and the archive (including searching it and reusing a task). You can buy Pro with “Buy” under “About Pro” in the app. It is a one-time in-app purchase that you keep.

How do I use Pro on a new iPhone without buying again?

You do not need to buy it again. Sign in to the new iPhone with the same Apple Account you bought with, then tap “Restore Purchase” in MimiTask’s Information. If no purchase is found, check that you are signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy.

It helps to include what happened, the app version (in Information), your iPhone and iOS versions, the alert option, and the type of earphones. You do not need to send private task details unless they are relevant.
